Capital Campaign Update

We have had two major renovation projects in the last year - when your building dates back to the mid-thirties, there's always something to do!

In 2011-2012, we are focussing our efforts on fire prevention. We are planning to install a sprinkler system, upgrade the alarm system, and replace our curtains with flame-resistant fabric. The entire project will cost around $62,000. We have applied for grants to help with the cost, but every little bit helps!

Please consider donating to the "Sprinkler Fund" when you buy tickets or attend one of our productions.

Fall 2010: This fall we redid the roof, changing the roofline of the theater. We found that the blocks that made up the "false front" roof were decaying and the mortar was crumbling, causing leaks in the front of the building. After talking to contractors we found out that the rough-hewn look of the blocks on the front of the building is a special type of block that is no longer available. Since we couldn't replace the blocks, we opted to bring the roof line to a normal peaked roof, replacing the flashing on the front and cutting the blocks to match the new roof line.

The job cost around $10,000 and was an unplanned expense. Our fundraising events this year will be directed to repaying that amount. You can help by attending the events or making a donation direct to the Capital Improvement Fund.
